The 2019 IAAF Worldathletics Championships kicked off in Doha, Qatar on September 27th with nearly 2,000 athletes from more than 200 countries and regions. The competition lasted for 10 days and ended on October 6th at the Caliph Stadium.
On the medal list, the US team won the first prize with 14 gold, 11 silver and 4 bronze. The Kenya team ranked second with 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. The Jamaica team ranked third with 3 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze. The Chinese team won 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze, and won the fourth place.
3 gold medals: Women's 50m gold medal, Women's 20m gold medal, Women's shot gold medal
3 silver medals: Women's 50m silver medal, Women's 20m silver medal, Javelin silver medal
3 bronze medals: Women's 20m competitive bronze medal, Javelin bronze medal, Women's hammered bronze medal
3 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze is the best record created by the Chinese track and field team after the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart. The 9 medals also equalized the number of medals won by the Chinese team in the history of the World Championships. The next event will be held in Eugene, USA in 2021, and we look forward to the better performance of Chinese athletes.
